Fun in the water without a bladder infection

Tips for a happy bladder in summer

Every season entails risk factors for urinary tract infections such as bladder inflammation. And that includes summer, even though the warm weather would suggest otherwise at first glance. It’s precisely at this time of year when we’re always wearing airy, light clothing and want to cool down at the pool, in a lake or in the sea, that urinary tract complaints can be a most undesirable condition. So what should we be aware of in summer to keep ourselves safe?

Undercooling in summer

Cooling off or undercooling is one of the biggest risks. Undercooling in summer? Surely that can only happen in winter? But no! Because of the high summer temperatures, there can be very big differences between the indoor and outdoor temperature. Air-conditioned rooms and draughts can really chill the body. In addition, in summer our clothing is lighter than in winter. That, in turn, can encourage undercooling.

Get that bikini off!

After taking a refreshing dip to cool down, it’s important to get out of your wet beachwear quickly. Keeping it on will encourage the undercooling of your groin area which opens the door wide to bacteria. And this applies not only to water, but also to sweat. When we exercise in summer, the hot temperatures mean that we sweat even more than usual, so keeping a fresh T-shirt on hand to swap with your sopping wet one is a great idea. Even if you can’t change your sweaty underwear as easily as your T-shirt, remember that it’s essential for your bladder health to change into fresh underwear immediately too.

Better safe than sorry

If you’ve ever had a bladder inflammation, you’ll do everything in your power to avoid getting another one. That may mean wearing clothes that suit the given room temperature, or immediately changing wet clothing in the groin area. These are all small but important measures to – we hope – avoid a potential bladder inflammation. What we’d also highly recommend are our two little helpers CAPS hydro and RINGANAdea. Together they’ll contribute to your well-being in summer.

The ingredients in CAPS hydro form the perfect symbiosis for supporting the bladder’s defences, keeping the mucous membrane happy, and giving the immune system a helping hand. That makes it more difficult for germs and bacteria to enter the body or the urinary tract. Want to know more about the unique combination of active substances? Then read all about the hero ingredients in CAPS hydro in our blog.

Let it flow!

As we all know, if we have a urinary tract complaint, we need to drink a lot to quickly flush out the germs and bacteria. Although the diuretic hibiscus flower extract in CAPS hydro plays a part here, you’ll get the ultimate support in this area from RINGANAdea. The fruit and herbal extracts it contains are perfectly matched with each other. RINGANAdea has a tangy flavour and it’s wonderfully refreshing – perfect for hot summer days. Mix it with a litre of water and pep it up with a few slices of lemon or orange, some rosemary and ice cubes – and drinking lots of liquid is no longer such a drag.
